International Women's Day
2024

| The Tapestry of Love, Overview

In a world where young hearts have endured the unimaginable, there exists a sanctuary of hope and healing known as Dayspring. This non-profit organization stands as a beacon of support for teenage girls who have faced the harrowing trials of complex trauma.

Organized by Elpis @ Hideout, on International Women's Day, the 46 creators will converge at Gardens By The Bay, where the magic of inclusion will come to life. As they join forces to assemble these individual squares into a magnificent 2.6 meters masterpiece. The story of our crochet project begins with a common thread of compassion, each with their unique background and experiences.

This project is a testament to the transformative power of inclusion and the revitalizing influence of healing, which mirrors the mission of Dayspring. By weaving together their diverse talents, backgrounds, and experiences, the team aims to offer Dayspring a gift that transcends the tangible. It delivers a message of love, unity, and hope at the same time, showcasing the community's collective care and encouragement.

In the end, it's a reminder that together, we can find healing, and nurture our well-being, by simply taking a break and allowing our minds to rest. Inclusion is not just a concept; it's a powerful force that encourages us to pause, rejuvenate our spirits, and stand together, echoing the mission of Dayspring through these 360 squares that come together to form a beautiful 2.6 metres tapestry.

Forming of Tapestry

Thank you for all your support especially those who have raised their hands to be part of this project!

We are thrilled to be involved in this project as an overall project manager, thank you Elpis @ Hideout and Zonta Club of Singapore for this opportunity. It has been a fulfilling journey observing volunteers gathering in groups to crochet, helping and teaching one another, and most importantly, having their best time doing so! This activity brings a form of reminder to take a break from your usual routine~ Here are some pictures of how everyone plays a part in slowly forming the tapestry.

Attaching of Tapestry on IWD 2024

On the 8th of March, we celebrated Int Women's Day by gifting The Tapestry of Love to HCSA DaySpring Residential Treatment Centre. We had the honor of Ms Jane Ittogi (the spouse of Singapore’s president, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam) to present the tapestry consisting of 360 squares, done by 46 volunteers from all walks of life, on that day. This tapestry will be placed in DaySpring's new home and we hope that it will bring light, hope, and love to all who see it.
